In France, where quantum physics is a field of research excellence (Nobel Prize in Physics 1997-2007-2012-2022; Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2023), this boom has led to the <a href=\"https:\/\/mastertechq.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/?page_id=1880\">creation of start-ups<\/a> from the academic world, aiming to develop quantum computers and quantum sensors for applications in physics, chemistry, and biology. Many large companies are interested in these themes: depending on their field of activity, they may have dedicated research groups (Thal\u00e8s, EDF, Airbus), or test quantum algorithms on startup platforms to better model materials (Total), or the evolution of financial markets (Cr\u00e9dit Agricole).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>USPN offers a Master&rsquo;s degree to train students to work on experimental quantum devices as soon as they graduate, or to start an industrial or academic thesis. The emphasis is on <a href=\"https:\/\/mastertechq.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/?page_id=1804\">technical skills<\/a> that qualify students to quickly take control of an experimental device. Students also acquire a solid grounding in the various fields of quantum physics, enabling them to understand the problems they will encounter, and play an active part in solving them. The Quantum Technologies Master&rsquo;s program offered by USPN stands out from other Masters programs in this field in the Paris region, which are very fundamental-oriented courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/mastertechq.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/ImageReseauxMasterTQ-e1736686388710-1024x443.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mastertechq.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/ImageReseauxMasterTQ-e1736686388710-1024x443.png 1024w, https:\/\/mastertechq.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/ImageReseauxMasterTQ-e1736686388710-300x130.png 300w, https:\/\/mastertechq.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/ImageReseauxMasterTQ-e1736686388710-768x333.png 768w, https:\/\/mastertechq.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/ImageReseauxMasterTQ-e1736686388710.png 1270w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Skills and networks<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure the success of this training program, we draw on solid skills and powerful networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pedagogical skills<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Quantum physics is the field of research for 15 <a href=\"https:\/\/mastertechq.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/?page_id=92\">teaching researchers and researchers<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Laboratoire de Physique des Lasers (LPL)<\/a>. This enables them to teach as closely as possible to the latest technological and scientific developments in quantum physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many <a href=\"https:\/\/mastertechq.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/?page_id=92\">USPN teaching researchers<\/a> teach \u00ab\u00a0Physics of the Measurement Chain\u00a0\u00bb courses (analog electronics, digital electronics, signal processing, acquisition, control), in existing Institut Galil\u00e9e courses at USPN (Bachelor Sciences for Engineering, specializing in Instrumentation and Telecom).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For courses focusing on quantum technologies, local skills also exist, particularly in optics and cleanroom techniques (USPN has a Nanotechnology Proximity Center). They will be supplemented by external participants in M2, from startups or major companies, for purposes of openness and illustration, with a dedicated 3 ECTS UE. Slots will be booked in M2 for visits to startups. Last but not least, colleagues from <a href=\"https:\/\/lipn.univ-paris13.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LIPN<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.math.univ-paris13.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LAGA<\/a> will be taking part in seminars on the latest developments in quantum computing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Research skills<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>USPN&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lpl.univ-paris13.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Laboratoire de Physique des Lasers (LPL)<\/a> is very active in the field of quantum physics, with four experiments producing quantum gases, teams specializing in atomic interferometry and spectroscopy, and a metrology team involved in piloting the ultrastable frequency dissemination network (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.refimeve.fr\/index.php\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Refimeve<\/a>). Research teams from other laboratories are also involved in these themes (magnetism at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lspm.cnrs.fr\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LSPM<\/a>, post-quantum cryptography at <a href=\"https:\/\/lipn.univ-paris13.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LIPN<\/a> and algorithms for quantum computers at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.math.univ-paris13.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LAGA<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Infrastructures for research<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To accelerate the development of QT at national level, the French government has selected the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-spn.fr\/quantedu-france-se-former-au-quantique\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">QuanTEdu<\/a> project as part of France 2030. USPN is a member of this consortium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Pr\u00e9sentation du projet QuantEdu-France\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HuyLTTt77xQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of this project, we have set up several experiments that will be used to illustrate the Master&rsquo;s courses: photoelectric effect, saturated absorption, photon statistics\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-columns-fd114a2e\" class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-columns has-2-columns has-desktop-twoOne-layout has-tablet-equal-layout has-mobile-collapsedRows-layout has-vertical-unset\"><div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-columns-overlay\"><\/div><div class=\"innerblocks-wrap\">\n<div id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-column-4e7e658a\" class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-column\">\n<p>The Ile-de-France region is a stronghold for quantum physics research.
